Notes

9/9/09--Starting heel flap of first sock.

9/10/09--Finished the heel. I’ve had this yarn in my stash for a long time (about a year). As soon as I brought it home initially, I set off to do a gorgeous sock project that asked for silk fingering-weight yarn. Lo-and-behold, I was disgusted by the way the yarn pooled on top of the gorgeous design. Frogging was required. I began learning the benefits and pitfalls of short-color-lengths & handpainted yarns. When I came across this pattern a while ago, I thought it would actually work well with this yarn (in the sense the yarn wouldn’t make the sock look grotesque). I was right (so far)! The darker sections have fallen in such a way to give the sock almost a stripey look. I know these won’t be the most gorgeous pomatomus socks ever--but I think they’ll be one of the better panda silk print socks in this colorway. I’ve also learned my lesson of being very careful with pretty looking non-solid yarns!

9/11/09--This sock feels delicious!!! I finished it. Let’s see if I have the stamina to finish the second one. :)

9/20/09--Done, done, done, done, donnnnneeee :D

Thanks to Mira for the pictures!
