Notes

This comes out pretty heavy and tightly woven. If I did it again, I’d use a US 8 or 9 rather than a US 7 for the body and choose something like a light fingering. I’d enjoy seeing it in lace weight yarn as well. That said, it did block very nicely and is quite thin enough to wear in most weather.

Large with plenty of variety for wearability with most any outfit.

I used four rather than five colors. When the fifth color was called for, I began blending the third color again until the fourth color was nearly gone. Then I finished with the third color. I did the lace border in the second color, mostly because I liked it but also because it was a greater contrast.

It took me a bit to get the rhythm of the linen stitch as it increased from row to row and of the lace, but it is a repeat that you can eventually remember easily.
