5/2014- started my first blanket as a scrap blanket as I had inherited a lot of scrap yarn from people. I had just started back up with crochet after a long hiatus and learned how to do front and back post DC. so naturally basket weave!
8/2014- I realized that I was a noob and had used a chain as the starting foundation and it was much tighter than everything else, as I didn’t know how to do foundation stitches. I had put hours of work into it (100+ rows, 25 min a row) and didn’t want to frog everything and didn’t know how to fix it. my solution then was to crochet on the other side of the chain…. facepalm
12/2014- put into hibernation until I gives out what to do with it. I was sad even to look at it.
9/17/2015- with my new found knowledge of steeking in Knitting, I was determined to figure out how to do it in crochet. I ran life lines around the bottom of the stitches on both sides of the chain. with heart in throat I cut the chain. success! I just need to patch them back together with a stretchy solution. Whew!
9/18/2015- successfully joined and repaired! double crocheted around the fingering mohair section to secure. after the chain was removed the blanket grew to 10.5’!
