What lovely mittens! A quick knit in DK weight yarn, even with the linings.

Modifications:

CO with main color instead of contrast as written because I wanted to emphasize the softer blue. To keep the pattern looking nice and crisp, I worked contrast color as dominant, holding it in my left hand.

Made this mitten shorter to fit my small hands as follows:

1. For the hand: Started decreases as written, but moved to double decreases in Row 64 (making 2 consecutive ssk or k2tog rather than one as charted).

2. For the thumb: Started decreases in Row 13 and decreased as written. Carried center CC “dot” upward in a line. If I make another pair, I might eliminate the central section of the chart (Rows 5-9) instead of ending early.

In the second mitten, I did a 3-needle bindoff with CC at the top. It looks nice and neat and carries the side stripe continuously over the top of the hand.

Worked linings in fingering weight yarn because I thought sport or DK would just be too bulky. Used same needle as rest of mitten and followed instructions for lining as written, except for shortening the hands and thumbs to match my shortened outer mittens.
