What an utterly delightful pattern! So simple, yet so effective. Also quite a quick knit for such an enormous shawl!

Like many others, I found the directions for the bud stitch to be inaccurate, but I’d already seen urbanfarmwife’s notes, so it went smoothly anyhow.

Tip: make sure you do the kfb loosely. This will ensure a nice flexible edge that allows the piece to expand fully. I discovered this when my point turned a bit cup-shaped at the beginning, but I started over and got it nice and flat.

I used fingering weight (Wollmeise Pure and Twin) held double, and I love how the multicolored accent color is extra multi with the double strand! Also the silky Pure has a lovely sheen against the slightly duller Twin. Wollmeise never fails to delight me.
