Notes

6/4 Wound the yarn. Plan to swatch in the morning. Swatched with US 6 (pattern rec) and came out BIG. Swatch attempt 2 tried US 5 and it is still coming out at gauge size before blocking. I don’t really think I want to go any smaller, though. So I’m going to stick with 5.

Completed Chart A today (the set-up section) and one time through Chart B before getting back to my Camp Loopy project.

6/7 first WIP photo shows work through three repeats of chart b. Plan is to make size large, which means 14 repeats of chart b total.

6/9 Only 4 repeats complete so far. Going to be so far behind but even though I’m slow and have too many projects on the needles I’m having so much fun!

6/11 am rethinking the size, haha. I will check it at the medium repeat number and see where I’m at from a size perspective and a yarn used perspective and finally a date perspective. I don’t want to fall TOO far behind! And I wouldn’t mind having a skein of yarn leftover to use with the other color I have for making a hat, maybe.

Color A is the Astrid Grey.
Color B is Well Water.
Color C is Worn Denim.

6/16 Completed chart B - size Medium to keep the second skein of Astrid Grey. Loving this yarn. 22 gms of skein one leftover. Didn’t feel it would be enough to go through size large, but who knows? May have been. Got through two rows of Clue two before quitting for the day. Have to get back to Camp Loopy. Will get a photo tomorrow. Love the colors together.

6/23 Completed Clue 2.

6/27 Started the day halfway through Clue 3.

6/28 Finished Clue 3. Started Clue 4 (Bind Off). Note to myself! Go up a needle or two for the bind off because I found it very difficult to keep it loose enough to stay stretchy! And wasn’t smart enough to do so when I realized it.

Yarn Used:
Section 1 (Astrid Grey): 58 of 80 gms
Section 2 (Well Water): 51 of 80 gms
Section 3 and 4 (Worn Denim): 48 of 80 gms

Total yarn used: 157 gms

6/29 Still needs spa treatment and weaving of ends. She suggests that for folks using three colors you can splice two colors together as you go so you don’t have so many ends to weave. While I loved working with the Tosh Dandelion (this was my first experience with it), it didn’t allow for this possibility because it is a single ply yarn so I have some work ahead of me. It is for this reason that I’m struggling to decide if my next one will be a single color (for Camp Loopy July) or another three color using the colors I chose for camp.

6/30 This yarn blocked beautifully. It grew immensely, as seen in the photos, and feels like there will be very little bounce back to original size/shape. The drape is incredible. I love it.

I did find during the blocking that I had missed one stitch during Clue 4 when picking up the live stitches along the top, so for future reference be more careful of that section! I have it caught in a stitch marker at present until I determine how best to fix it.
