Finished! I did some weighing after I got onto the 2nd ball at rib 8, and having ascertained that after rib 11 there wouldn’t be enough to do another, I went on to the edging. I tried to measure how much I had left, to make sure there was enough to cast off with … and the first time I was out by about 10 stitches, dammit. So I unpicked, grimly, and redid the cast-off using a 4mm needle, and this time had about 1.5 yards left! It just needs a wash and block now…
