Notes

Well, there’s a mistake, I think, in the first bit of the pattern: cast on 1 (OK); K1 YO K1 into that stitch … that looks like row three (there is, therefore, no row 2). So I’m assuming where it says work rows 3-65, it’s actually 5-65. And I think that should be 5-67, anyway, as shown on the chart. Sigh. So that’s what I’ll be doing, then.

Well, I got to the end of the repeat, tried to follow the written instructions, and they’re WRONG. So I consulted other projects and found Phoebesflowerpot’s Sierpinski, which has better instructions, but still wrong line nos.

So what I’m doing is: Work r.67 as CHARTED: i.e. K1, YO, P to last stitch, YO, K1. Work r.68 as given, i.e. purl to end. Then r.69 should be equivalent to row FIVE of the chart (see rows 19 and 21 for equivalent comparison), so K1, YO, K1, YO, pm, ssk, K to last 4 sts, K2tog, pm, YO, K1, YO, K1.

After that, work as indicated in the written instructions; i.e. work chart omitting last stitch, slip marker, ssk; knit to marker, K2tog, slip marker, work chart omitting 1st stitch.

This is hibernating now until I get new yarn - I definitely don’t have enough to finish, alas, but when we looked at the Wollmeise website on Monday, we found they had this colourway in stock! So a friend has ordered a skein, and I’ll pay her for it when I see her next.

Since I got the replacement yarn last Friday, and have managed to cake it, I’ve restarted, doing 2 rows of each - till the original runs out! The new yarn is very slightly brighter on the greens, but is blending nicely otherwise.

Finished! Just needs washing and blocking, and the ends sewing in. It’s going to be a nice size, too, when it’s blocked.
