Yarn held double. Almost 30 oz. of polyfill.
Maybe I should write this up as a free pattern?

I started making this from the bottom up with the pattern for the mathematically ideal 30-row sphere. But the spherical bottom squished into a flat shape since it is so big. So I undid hours and hours of work to make a conical bottom that could lump out into a nice sphere. It worked much better!

I also started the top as a giant ideal sphere, but it didn’t seem to be the right shape. I undid that too and started a basic 6st inc. I was worried it would be too geometric and not round enough, but after ironing and shaping it came out fine! Yay!
