I’ve got some very awesome knitting buddies. You see, I found a shawl I wanted to make here on Ravelry, but I would have had to pay for it. So my two friends zerocattle and anniebeeknits wrote up a pattern for me to make. Words and a chart so that I can hopefully learn how to read a chart a bit. I’m so excited to make this out of my pretty blue ombre….I named it the Rocky Shores Shawl, cause the colour and pattern remind me of my home, Newfoundland!
Sept 9/09 - CO row made….done on first try too! But now I’m all freaked out that I don’t know how to sl1 purlwise, I’m going to leave the next row until Knit Night tomorrow, so they can tell me if I’m doing it wrong or not!
Sept 10/09 - Ripped out everything I had done, and re-casted on with bigger needles. I’m so impatient, I want it to be done, it’s gonna be pretty!
Sept 13/09 - I love this pattern and this yarn…though the yarn doesn’t show off the pattern very well, I think it’s beautiful. I have to put it aside for a couple days though cause I found a mistake that I know can be fixed, I’m just not exactly sure how so I have to wait for Knit Night to get help.
Dec 31/09- I just started the third ball on the shawl
March 19/10 - I neglected this shawl for a while, but now that I’m doing the prayer shawls…I’m working on it again..it’s actually really easy knitting and I’m going to use it for during church. Not sure if I’m going to keep it for myself or donate it, will have to see what I think when it’s done!
I tried to get this shawl down during the WIP Cup from June 11- July 11, but I didn’t get done. It’s too warm to work on this shawl…have to wait until the weather gets cooler!
