About three weeks ago, I noticed that I had some beads, size 6, mixed aqua and I had some blue / purple / green leftovers from my Francie socks. I suddenly had to make something with these. Right then. So I looked through patterns for the right yardage and decided I could make a pair of beaded cuffs like those in Sivia Harding’s Aquitaine pattern.

I didn’t have enough beads, but I had enough to put two kinds of beads in some of the places the pattern had called for. I started right away and finished the first cuff within a couple of days. I took pictures of the cuff on my hand, which made me feel very old. Then I had my granddaughter Hazel try it on. It looked great on her, and she loved it. I’ve been busy since (mostly swatching for Meg) but today I’ve started the second cuff and am loving it again. The size 6 beads are way overkill on this size yarn (fingering) in my opinion, but at least they show up. I like these a lot, anyway.
