Notes

Knit until 9 3/8 inches long based on a foot length of a little less than 9 1/2 inches which translates to a size 8 shoe size… .

Pattern notes: Knit foot until foot is between 6 1/8 and 6 3/8 inches long before beginning gusset. Measure on the bottom of foot because of the pattern , the row gauge is off on the top of the foot. Talking to a friend who has knit these, she said that measuring the bottom of the foot worked for her and she got a perfect fit. Because my gauge is 11 ROWS per inch instead of 10 per inch I think I will err on the side of the longer option noted above…

11/4/2011 - cast on while at a craft night group and teaching a few others how to knit. Got through toe increases and first set of foot pattern rows.

11/5/2011 - Took it to regular Saturday knitting group. Helped one person learn to knit and another to proceed with beginning project :) AND did my normal chatting and eating and still managed to finished another full set of repeats. FAST pattern and easy to memorize. Started the gusset on Row 11 of the pattern repeat #3

11/6/2011 - Realized I forgot to do the very first increase in the sole so I did three increases in a row from Rows 1-3 on the 4th repeat of the 20 row pattern. Ended gusset on Row 14 of the pattern. Got up through the 6th total repeat of the instep/leg pattern. Will probably do 2 more repeats, maybe 3 (an additional 40-60 rows). Hope to finish 1st sock tomorrow!

11/7/2011 - Worked on these for a couple of hours today. I finished up through 9 repeats of the pattern and think I will now start on the top ribbing! Almost there!

11/8/2011 - Yeah! Finished the first sock. Did 11 rows of the K1, P1 rib before using Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off. So hopeful that these fit well and that the second sock goes as quickly as the first. Used 36g = 157 yards for the first sock.

11/11/2011 - Cast on for the second sock. Made it through the toe and the second repeat of the 20 row pattern. Will hopefully start the gusset and get through the heel tomorrow :) That would be awesome…

11/15/2011 - Haven’t worked on these in days (easily distracted)…but picked up today and started the gusset. Made it through Row 12 of the 3rd repeat.

11/21/2011 - Picked these up again today…FINALLY. Only worked on them for a couple of minutes, but got through the 3rd repeat.
