Notes

Using the Jackie pattern as a starting point and my guide I worked the two fronts and back separately to the top of the side vents. I then joined the three (this required a slight modification of one of the fronts for the pattern to flow across from one edge to the other) and worked in one piece to the under arms. I save stitches on stitch holders rather then binding them off when shaping. I worked the three pieces again separately after dividing for the armholes. Sleeves were begun from a small tab which I picked up at the shoulder join, then worked down picking up stitches until the still live stiches from holders could be added. Once all the live stitches were again on my needle I joined and worked the rest of the sleeve in the round, decreasing at the same rate and the number of times given as increases in the original pattern. Of course since it was a man’s jacket in my vertion the buttonholes were placed on the opposite front.
