Notes

Using the idea from Simple Stripes Sweater by Kaffe Fassett but dimensions from Ann Budd’s Drop Shoulder Sweater.

10-19-2021

CO 44 stitches with the Casablanca and knit in 2x2 rib for 2”.

10-20-2021

Corrected gage and cast on 36 stitches for the cuff. Worked 12 rows (about 2”) in K2, P2 rib.

10-22-2021

After the cuff start a 2 x2 stranded pattern using the solid and variegated yarn. Increasing 2 stitches every 5 rows, 19 times, for 74 stitches. Stop at 105 rows or 19 inches.

11-02-2021

CO 71 stitches on both sides of the sleeve. Work the 74 sleeve stitches in pattern and the 71 on either side in garter stitch for 5.75” about 35 rows.

11-13-2021

Neck.
Decide which side will be the front. Use separate balls of yarn for back and front. Find middle of sleeve pattern. Decrease one stitch on front side each row for 14 rows. Work next 8 rows even. Increase one stitch each row for 14 rows.

11-29-2021

Work backwards. Joining back and front thus closing up the neck, work 35 rows in pattern.

12-28-2021

Starting last sleeve. Decreasing 71 stitches from both sides and working the 74 center stitches with 2 decreases on each side every 5 rows until 36 stitches.

01-03-2022

Work 12 rows (about 2”) in K2, P2 rib.

Finished knitting it but it is a little too small. I changed from Kollage square needles to Knitter’s Pride round needles and I think this changed my guage. I just got rid of a bunch of sweaters that were too big so I am not going to increase the size of this one untill I finish loosing weight. Just over 5 pounds to go. Therefore, this one is hibernating.

Maybe an Icord neckline. https://blog.tincanknits.com/2022/01/13/how-to-knit-an-i-cord-edge/

09-21-2022

Still too small. Adding 10 rows on each side going up the side and across the arm on all 4 sides.

11-14-2022

Finished one side of increasing and did a 3 needle bind-off on the outside. I marked 10 stitches on each side of the underarm (20 stitches total) and worked the bind off from the edges (sleeve and hem) to the marked stitches. One side had 4 more stitches than the other so I fixed this at the underarm.

01-27-2023

Using a size 8 needle (next time I should use a 7) I picked up and knitted 11 rows of 2x2 rib around the neckline. Followed by a K2, Knit those 2 together bind off.
