Very nice free pattern. I made the hood about 2.5 inches longer. As written it seemed way too small to fit a large baby head and it was easy enough to do. I also did a 3 needle bind off on the hood.

To avoid some of the seaming, I picked up stitches at the arm opening and knit down to the cuff, decreasing every 4th row.

Just for fun, I added a blanket stitch edging using Rowan Felted Tweed DK in a yellow gold.

I love it--easy pattern and lovely, soft, machine washable wool. It’s a superwash, so it will stretch--put in in the dryer for a wee bit, then while still damp, pat to shape and let it dry flat.
