Added a strand of DROPS Lace to Shoppel’s mostly beloved merino. Lace should add a drop of extra durability (I hope, due to silk content and strand structure?) a boyish blue tint.

Basing my calculations on a glove template by Drops design, using size 6-9yo. Mods made to fit my son’s individual hand:

1. CO 48 STS for the rib part, reduce to 42 sts in the palm part.
2. Added 1 extra st to each of the fingers incl thumb.
3. Semi-fingers: 7 r in stst (5r stst little finger), 2r in 1x1rib, BO knitwise.
4. Cap: 1 r before finger base, picking-up all sts back of hand and 2 sts on ea side of the palm (23 sts in total). CO 24 sts palm part (total 47 sts). 2x2 rib 7r. cont in sts and at the same time -3 sts on 1st row (44 sts). STS until cap measures 4 cm (=length of my son’s little finger), then -4 sts every 2nd row as for mitten finish. Thread together when 12 sts remain for a not-too-pointy finish. Button hole: crochet 5 ch.
