Notes

Note that you have enough yardage to make 2 pairs of striped socks (though only one with these 3 colours). You’ll need approx 12g of each colour (though prob 11g of 2 of the 3 cuz only one colour will take on the heavy lifting of the heel and heel flap.

Determine whether to do the cuff with one colour only - if yes, then you’ll likely need 10g of 2 of the colours and 14g of the colour that does the heel and the cuff.

On the second sock, you will have to work with pink and grey only as the blue will likely be gone.

Consider striping 5 rows per colour (except for cuff and heel/heel flap.

Used 8g of the pink Cascade and 3g of the blue Cascade on sock 1… This leaves 11g of blue and 36g of yarn for sock 2.

This will, presumably, leave 8g blue and 28g pink for the next pair of socks - enough to make a second pair with the same striping…

What I’ll say about the John Arbon sock yarn is that, while I really dislike the hand and knitting with it, it’s apparent that it will be very strong and long-wearing (and machine washable), which were the parameters under which I bought it. I can’t imagine ever buying it again (though I will get a good 3 pairs of socks from 2 skeins - if I stripe with small weights of other sock yarns), but how can I malign it if it functions as per the needs I defined.

I started the cuff for the second sock, then forgot about it and knit it again. So I have a cuff ready to go for my next pair made with the John Arbon yarn. It took 4g of yarn…

  1. Incredibly strong (I reckon it will be durable)

  3. Somehow both hairy and slippery
