This Shalimar Breathless is gorgeously soft and beautiful to work with - but it is kind of splitty (which one person mentioned in the yarn comments - though no one else seemed to agree). I generally won’t work with splitty yarn more than once, but this stuff produces such soft and terrific hand, I likely will (if it washes and wears well).

The splittiness on size 1 needles became tedious but the finished product (not yet blocked) is soft and luscious.

Update: NEVER use this yarn on socks. It felts immediately (I won’t handwash socks and this fabric has mostly superwash yarn so I didn’t expect it to be strictly necessary.) Furthermore, it pills, it pulls. THis yarn is gorgeous on the skein but splitty when knitted and NOT durable.

The only thing I’d use it on would be a small project that doesn’t get much wear - like an infant’s outfit.

Admittedly, I chose this yarn with this pattern with my eyes open, and I’m wearing these ugly socks even as I think they’re wearing horridly. I have no issues with the pattern or technique which I use often, to great effect, with other yarns. Oh well.
