Notes

Make this along with the Sixteen Cable hat (takes ~200 yards of yarn) This leaves, once you’ve used 400y on this and the hat, ~100 yards to make Cathedral Grove (also in queue). The Cathedral requires 3 colours ~ 105m per colour…

My pre-blocked gauge on US 4 appears to be 22 st and 32R per 4” so you may need to work a few extra rows to get to the vertical measurements required.

Worked the cuff for 22R or 3.5 inches - which looks like (and is technically the length of) 3” when you account for the roll of the stockinette edge…

The instructions are by and large very clear with the exception of one thing - I believe in both mitts the beginning of round changes when you move into the shaping of the top of the mitt section (it definitely does on the left mitt). This is entirely unclear and I think it messed up the decrease section on the top of my right mitt. It’s not so egregious that I need to change it but the decs do appear to have worked correctly (based on photos of finished mitts) on the left one and not the right one and that’s the only diff between the two. Next time - consider the beginning of round on the right mitt when you get to that section.

Other than that, this pattern is clear and very sweet - and simple in construction / fast.

Block to ~10 inches from cuff to top and ~2” from top thumb to tip and ~3” from bottom thumb to tip.

Just checked my post-blocked gauge (for benefit of another pattern) and it seems I got gauge on US4, pretty spot on.
