Notes

Man, this is taking a long time - but I think it might be lovely when all’s said and done.

I was going to knit it for my father, but I’m using DK rather than Worsted yarn - and it’s coming out too delicately.

Fortunately, that Debbie Bliss Rialto DK stretches insanely (as I learned from the keyhole tee). I’m hoping it will lengthen for the long haul as I’m blocking it.

I think this pattern, while lovely and unusual, is too time consuming to be enjoyable (given that the outcome is, when all is said and done, a scarf). It actually hurt my fingers to knit this.

But, if you love the way it looks, it is true to the pattern schematic. Note: I did regular long tail cast on and it worked well.

One word of warning: If you drop a stitch - or lose focus, which is likely - unless you really understand the construction of the purl stitch sequence that leads to the knots, it’s really a bitch to fix. This happened to me and the impact was, IMO, noticeable. I doubt someone else will focus on it, but the error really annoys me and, despite my best efforts, I couldn’t fix it otherwise.
