Notes

Many have suggested that it takes more yarn than indicated. You may not make it with the Adelaide but the Gaston might be too drapey… I’ve opted to go with the Gaston (alpaca and bamboo) but may opt to use the Oatmeal Classic Elite if this one works out well…

Wow - this really does take up a lot of yarn. At the half way mark, according to the math, I’ll be 10g short on the Gaston (which is, admittedly, heavy for sport weight / handspun). I’ve decided to rip this out because I’m not thrilled by the fabric that’s knitting up and I can’t think of a way to save it (switching halfway with a diff yarn could work but I have no other yarn having the properties of the Gaston and I can’t get more of what I’ve got (and I’m not particularly thrilled with it). The yarn feels too much like cotton for my liking.

  1. Lovely design
  2. Very well explained
  3. Unfortunately, the yardage required is MUCH higher than the pattern stipulates. I had over 300 yards of my fabric and I'm still short.
