Sensible stash busting / Xmas x 1

80 stitches on size 8 needle vs 88 stitches on size 9 needle gives me size I’m looking for - small girl’s.

I made this version with half an additional repeat series (resulting in a smaller hat than the pattern version but larger than the first version of the hat I made for the tiny niece). Every repeat series yields 2 honeycomb circles in depth. Doing half the series gives one complete circle before beginning the decreases.
