Notes

I doing a mini-KAL with Sara (moonkun) and Andrea (StitchParade)… Will write more about this at line4line.blogspot.com

Apparently, this yarn (in its most recent version) has 420 yards in 100 grams…

April 6, 2014: I’ve used 45 grams (252 yards) about 45% of the way there…

April 8,2014: Having finished this I have a few thoughts about the yarn and the pattern…

Tosh Merino Light was VERY splitty - very tricky to work with lace. I don’t love single-ply yarn. Mind you, the colour is gorgeous and the fabric is strong - while it feels very delicate.

This shawl is not difficult but lace work, even lace work, is SO finicky. Can’t say I enjoyed knitting it, but that doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy wearing it.

Wet blocking and using blocking wires and pins are de rigeur once you finish, in order to get that crisp triangle shape….

I should totally give this away because a) I do not like the yarn and wouldn’t want to knit with it again EVER. I also really don’t like the shawl. I don’t wear triangle shawls and this one is too small to be of much use.

I really didn’t enjoy making this and I am reminded of this every time I look at this garment so it’s just not for me.
