I LOVE the feel of this yarn (Tern) but I hate the colour… It’s springy and drapey and strong and it knits beautifully.

Also, if I make this again, I’ll definitely go up a needle size. My preblocked vertical dimensions were much smaller than the pattern indicates they should be. I didn’t swatch and I went down a needle size so, if it’s not drapey enough at the cowl after blocking, it’s my own fault.

It’s all going to come down to how this blocks whether a) this will be mine or a gift and b) what size I’ll make next time.

It’s a really good pattern though and a very practical but lovely garment. I tend to hate lace work (and only do it when I forget that) but this pattern was pretty doable with a bit of attention. It’s just that, if you make a mistake (and you will) you’ve got to know how to fix it.

In the final analysis, it wet blocked to size but I still think it could be drapier or a bit more open in the fabric. I’d likely not size down in the needle size next time as the cowl is very shallow.

Decided to give it to Nicole - who looks great in it (and she always wears the knits I give her).
