Man, this thing ATE yarn. I ended up having to buy another skein of the Shibui in Brass and I had to go off-road on the pattern, specifically in the side-sections, because I first ran out of Colour 2 (Peacock) - it did not go as far as anticipated - then Colour 5 (grey) and I had to moderate the colour scheme so I wouldn’t run out of Colour 3 (variegated). My side sections are predominantly in an even (6 row per colour) stripe pattern using Colour 1 and Colour 4 (Shibui Ivory and Shibui Brass).

What I’d also say is that this thing is huge and heavy - it’s a blanket more than a shawl. Next time, I’d make it on a needle size smaller (US5 for a bit more fabric integrity). Mind you, the drape on this is great for a blanket.

1787 yards of yarn may be the biggest project I’ve made.

In the end, I love this palette more than I ever could have imagined and I seriously just stumbled on it by accident. It’s taught me to move out of my comfort zone.
