Notes

MC - J&S white
CC1- RFL pink / RFL beige (hold double)
CC2 - Woolfolk grey/pink

Hold the RFL double (as it’s lace-weight) - use one strand of each colour to mitigate the potential for the white next to pink to look kind of candy-like.

You should have just enough of the beige (Cameo) to get through the shawl but, if you run out, at that point you can use double-held pink (which will be out of the stripe section and far away from white J&S, the colour I’m concerned to put the pink next to re: candy vibe).

04-12-2020

Worked Section 1 to 70 st - took 27g of yarn - and 25g remains to do striping…

09-12-2020

Have only 1g of the white left as of 121 st (because I knit with white to the point that there were 70 st on the needle)

12-12-2020

Put progress keeper at 126st point. Every 2 rows (or one garter bump) represents 1 st increased. So I have 100 more rows to increase by the necessary 50 st to get to 176 st or the point at which Section 4 begings.

15-12-2020

At heart shaped progress keeper you have 147 st on needles. Next “bump” will be 148 st and so on. As my stitch numbers appear to be a bit wonky, I’m aiming to keep things in check.

18-12-2020

I made it to 173 st and then ran out of the Cameo colourway. (Pattern instructs that you work the striped section to 176 st. but 173 st is fine…)

20-12-2020

Note that the yardage for this project is artificially high because I held 2 lace-weight yarns double…

30-12-2020

I love this end result - perhaps even more than my first version. The pattern is a great way to use up single skeins. It’s an enjoyable knit and so wearable.
