Proposed post-blocked gauge:
Stockinette section: 6st and 8R per inch
Lace section (15st repeat): 6st per inch
Mock cable section (9st repeat): 9st per inch
For swatch CO ~49 = 15 st of the lace pattern + (9 st mock cable) x 2 + (6 st stockinette) x 2
Knit swatch as follows:
CO, Knit 3 rows - W, R,W
Begin Lace pattern:
RS: K2, 9 st mock cable, 6 st stockinette, 15 st lace, 6 st stockinette, 9 st mock cable, K2
WS: K2, 9 st mock, 6 st stockinette, 15 st lace, 6 st stockinette, 9 st mock, K2
Do this for one vertical repeat of the lace (24 rows)
After lace repeat, continue for another 10 rows as follows:
RS: K2, K, K2
WS: K2, P, K2
K 3 rows (garter), Bind off on WS

Swatch knit on US 2.5 for garter and US 3 for main body (incl lace, stockinette, mock cable).
Pre-blocked Gauge
Stockinette: 6 st and 9.5R per inch
Lace: 2 inches over the 15 st (hard to assess)
Mock Cable: 1 inch over mock cable
Post-blocked Gauge
Stockinette: 6 st and 9R per inch
Lace: 2.5” at widest point of the 15 st repeat
Mock cable: 9 st over 1” but hard to determine…
So, it’s pretty well unchanged by blocking and slightly shorter than the gauge instructed. Keep this in mind when knitting vertical dimensions. Note: May help in the raglan section in terms of not having to change instructions overly to get to the proposed length before removing sleeve stitches and beginning to work the body.
Remember - the XS is 33.5” in bust (at 0 ease). I’d like to get to 36” with 0” ease so I’ll have to knit enough stitches at full bust to increase 2.5” - that’s 15 st… But remember you’ll either want to limit the decreases after full bust is knit (i.e. front load increases to get width quickly when you really only need it over the full bust, and then hold off on additional increases that are over and above those stipulated with size XS) - or continue to increase according to pattern, if that works, according to a larger size - S or M, for example.

I’m going to make the simple version (no lace at the hem, longer and potentially less tent-like. The feminine sleeve variation is very appealing but likely harder to wear (esp. under coats or cardigans - and we need to layer in Canada) and may take more yarn than I have at my access, in the one dye lot.

Note - I really appreciate the great schematic provided with this pattern. Helped me to realize that I would need to make an XS (given all measurements except bust). I’ve altered the garment such that the full bust is 36.5” (one inch smaller than the size small’s). All other measurements will accord with the XS size.
