Starting to think about the colors I want to use. I will be trying my best to use only stash yarn. Not sure when I will start the actual crocheting, but the planning has begun.

I’m thinking I will actually make a sample size size first and turn it into a wall hanging. I have some colors picked out from my stash. Trying to use all stash yarn. We’ll see how that goes with the different fibers and weights.

I decided to make a small wall hanging. It will be 10 flower motifs and 7 leaf motifs.

Colors are chosen and I made the first flower to see how I liked the colors together. The rest of the motifs will be made assembly line style. I made a chart for the flower colors. Hopefully I will love how they turn out.

Finished all 10 flowers. Time to cake up the greens and start the leaves!

I am so glad I decided to make this a small wall hanging and not a huge blanket! The flowers were fun, but I’m really not enjoying the leaves. First of all, I have ADHD, so I have certain things that are frustrating to me. I don’t have a problem making lots of motifs as long as they’re simple and I don’t have to pay too much attention to making them. Something I can make while listening to an audio book or watching T.V. I also don’t have a problem making something more complicated detailed as long as I don’t have to make more than a couple of them. What I can’t handle is making a lot of the same thing that requires more attention.

That being said, i have had restart several times due to my misunderstanding of the pattern or just not paying as much attention as I should.

After the first set of leaves, the second went smoother, but still don’t have it memorized. I do have to look at the chart. Generally after reading the pattern for the first, I can just use the chart for subsequent ones. I love when patterns include written directions and charts. I rely on both when I need clarification. I’m very happy that this pattern has both!

I’ve completed two sets of leaves. I need four. Not sure when I will be ready to tackle the last two.

Completed final two leaf sets. May have spoke too soon. It’s really not too bad once you get the hang of it. I still don’t think I would want to make enough for a blanket though.
