I designed this hat modifying the stitch pattern from the Alpine Cable Blanket from Holland Designs. (Linked above)

After much trial and error, I’m finally pleased with the Hat!

Row 1: (6.5 mm hook) Foundation hdc of 26.(NOTE: I use a smaller hook only in the foundation row because for some reason my foundation rows are too big if I don’t.)
Row 2: (switch to 8.0mm hook) same as row 2 of pattern
Row 3: same as row 3 of pattern
Row 4: same as row 5 of pattern
Row 5: same as row 6 of pattern
Row 6: same as row 8 of pattern

Repeat rows 1- 6, six more times

Seam hat up the side and cinch top closed by weaving yarn through the top and pulling tight. Add a pom pom to the top if you like.

Finished measurements:
19” circumference
9.25” length excluding pom pom
