Making 31 solid blue squares and 32 blue squares with pink centers to go with my granddaughter’s bedroom. Haven’t decided on the border yet.

1-15 at this point I have finished all the pink centers, and 24 of the 32 polka- dot squares. Ran out of blue yarn at this point ( I only had one skein) estimating I need 2 more skeins. 8 polka dot squares and all 31 solid squares left to complete. This project is going pretty quickly as could make granny squares in my sleep- Lol!

2-1-15 Finished all squares, crocheted all squares together and added one round of border. At this point, not sure where I want to go with the border. I would like to add a ruffle border with Red Heart Boutique Sassy Fabric, like in the Ruffled Baby Blanket by Karen Gunza, (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ruffled-baby-blanket) but haven’t found one that would match. At this point the afghan measures 32” x 42”.

Tried adding a border with Sassy Lace instead of Sassy fabric. I LOVE it! I only had it on hand in gray for the test, but planning on getting some in vanilla and adding all the way around.

2-10-15 Still waiting on lace so I can finish this!

2-17-15 Added lace border, just need to weave in ends now. This blanket really looks “shabby chic” now with the addition of the lace border.I added the border to all four sides as this is more for decoration than actual use.

2-18-15 3 hours weaving in in ends and FINISHED!!!
