Beginning chain 142, 4 color sections, 22 rows per section.
About 3 hours per color section. Followed pattern, but I am crocheting in back loops only, except hdc 2 tog at beg and end of each row in both loops. I added a border and some surface crochet in Honey. (Originally I was going to use 6 colors in the ombre part, but discovered it wasn’t wide enough for an afghan, so took out the Fog and Black and made it into a baby blanket.)

Border Round 1: Hdc around evenly. (3 hdc in each corner)
Round 2: Sc around, back loop only (3 sc in each corner)
Round 3: Suface crochet in sc around ridge.

Surface crochet rows in sc across 3 ridges in the White section and 3 ridges in the Shale section.
