Trying out this pattern for my 3rd knit project. Sticking to hats knitted in the round on circulars for now. I am not joining last stitch to first stitch, just working in a spiral and and keeping a stitch marker in the first stitch.

This is a very good pattern for a beginner. I was able to do the decreases with DPNs for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed making this hat and highly recommend this FREE pattern!

Maybe not the best yarns for a beginner. I had trouble with the yarn splitting and I’m having to go really slow. Enjoying the repetition though, as I need the practice. I really want to jump into something more complicated, but I need to practice the basics first.

1/27/18 I have completed 3” inches height and am switching to the larger needles now.

1/29/18 Worked up to decrease section. I knitted 7.5” (instead of 8”) from the bottom and then started decreases.

1/30/18 Hat is complete! Worked decreases to 40 stitches and switched to DPNs. I did not know how to do this so I watched this video: https://youtu.be/6ob7wn18MJI
