Notes

NOTE: I used a P 11.5 mm hook. This exact size is not an option above.

This is my 3rd attempt at making a crochet version of this cowl/infinity scarf. After checking out other Raveler’s knitted and crocheted versions, almost got it right this time. I need to make it longer next time. It’s a little tight around the neck. My first version was back loop sc. Didn’t quite like it. 2nd version was a wide cowl in alternating front and back post dc. (Like Polly Foo Foo’s version linked above.) Liked it better, but figured out it needed to be an infinity scarf. 3rd version (this one): I chained 70 to begin, row 1: dc in 3rd chain from hook and across to end, ch 1 turn row 2: alternate front and back post dc to end, rows 3-9-repeat row 2. Slip stitch wrong sides together and weave in ends. Next time I will add about 10-15 chains to beginning chain as it shrunk in length a little more than I anticipated. ( I crochet on the loose side, so a tighter crocheter might want to add on even more chains or use a Q hook).

Finished size was about 7” in. wide and 45” around. Due to the width and bulkiness, and my personal dislike of anything tight around the neck, I will make the next one longer. I will probably wear this one without doubling it.

Now that I see the cowl in photos, it does need to be a little longer. I think the the width is good, though. Will try to make another longer one soon.
