I realized this design would not work well for a blanket so going for a different design with the same squares.

77 rectangles in 11 rows. 8 colors of Stylecraft Dk. My plan is to join in rows wrong sides together with single crochet, so the join shows on the right side. Just need to pick a color for the join and decide on border. Thinking I will just go with rounds of hdc for the border. First and last round in joining color and one round of each color in between for a total of 10 rounds.
3-11 Joined rows going one way with blue. Deciding if I want to join rows the other way with a different color or with blue as well.
3-12 Decided to go with blue joining both ways and for 1st round of border (hdc around)border. 2nd round of border went with hdc in third loop of previous hdc round changing colors around to match up with the rectangles.
3-15 Wove in the last of the ends. Just need to block.
