I used worsted weight acrylic yarn I had in my stash. For the triangles: (For the red and white side: first 3 rows in red then change colors every 2 rows, last 3 rows in red)
Row 1: G hook, 7dc in a magic circle, change to an E hook, chain 1, turn
Row 2: hdc in first 3 stitches, 3 hdc in center stitch, hdc in last 3 stitches, chain 1, turn
Row 3: hdc in first 4 stitches, 3 hdc in center stitch, hdc in last 4 stitches
Row 4-11: Continue in this manner,(hdc in each stitch, 3 hdc in center stitch) through row 11 for the size I made, or continue for a larger size.
Row 12: hdc, chain 1, repeat across.
For the ties, E hook, I chained about 70 for the red and blue ties, and about 140 for the white ties. weave the white tie through the the bottoms of the two triangles. Attach the red and blue ties to the magic circles of the triangles. Add fringe if desired.
