Basic hdc beanie. Slip stitch for last round. Added large pink button. Hat crown measures 5.25” across and length is 6.5”.

I also use her recommendation to start a hdc beanie with 8 stitches and increase by 8 each round until reaching desired size for crown.
Since the yarn I’m using is variegated, I decided to stick with a simple stitch. I have found nicer stitches don’t show as well with variegated yarn, so I will save those for solid color projects.
