Not impressed with the yarn. Stiff and scratchy, but the hat is cute, and the way kids take care of stuff, maybe it wear better than a soft yarn. I think the yarn (which comes with the pom pom already made) was a good deal. I think I payed $2.50 for it. I used a little less than one skein.

Pattern was easy to understand,however it did not specify how to join the puff stitch rounds. The pattern is free and I’m ok with free patterns not specifying every little detail. Grateful whenever someone shares their knowledge for free!

I used a smaller hook than specified (H-5.0mm)and eliminated the last increase row to fit my granddaughter.It fit her snugly which I wanted so it wouldn’t fall off while she’s running around.
