Gauge: 3 dc stitches x 2 rows = approx. 2” Drew out design on graph paper. Looking for an option for a graph afghan that wouldn’t take as long, I decided to design one that used double crochet and super bulky yarn. I think this works well for very simple designs. I found that about 3 dc stitches and 2 rows formed a 2” square. The design I chose didn’t require the gauge to be exact. It wouldn’t matter if the design was a little wider/narrower or taller/shorter than the graph. I do crochet loosely, so a tighter crocheter might have to go up a hook size to achieve a similar gauge. Afghan is 90 dc stitches across x 46 rows.
