11-28: Starting this today on a road trip to my daughter’s soccer tournament.
I want this afghan to be about 40” x 60”. I added 10 stitches to the beginning and end of each row based on the last afghan I made which was 39” across at 120 stitches, so I figured abt 180 stitches for 60” across.
I must be crocheting looser or the yarn is thicker because this afghan is measuring 65 “ across. Also based on a previous afghan I made, I figured the 141 rows called for in the pattern would be abt 40”. At 20 rows it is measuring 5.5” so the final measurement will be closer to 38.5” Probably shouldn’t have added the extra stitches, but at 20 rows in, I don’t want to frog it. I think it will be fine.
12-1: Worked on this project over the weekend. Just got to where the “Longhorn” is started. Finished 36 rows so far. (105 to go plus border, so about 30% done.)
12-12: Finished row 50 ( abt 35% done) Every row takes abt 10 min., so 6 rows per hour. This is gonna take awhile! :)
12-16: finished row 65, almost halfway done.
12-20 finished row 92, over 2/3 done now. Running out of yarn. :(
12-28: resumed, finished row 112
12-29: finished row 141, now just need to add border and weave in a few ends.
12-30: added simple 3 round border: round 1, sc, ch 2, skip 2, repeat (sc ch 2 sc in corners)
round 2, 3 dc in ch 2 space of prev round repeat (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in corners)
round 3, sc in between groups of 3 dc of previous round, ch 2, repeat (sc, ch 2 sc in corners)
