This is a very detailed easy to follow pattern. I rated it a medium due to the post stitches. Everything is explained very well and stitch counts for rows are given. Measurements are given not only for final product, but for checkpoints along the way. Jennifer has a unique way of beginning rounds that gives a seamless quality look to the product. Highly recommend this pattern!

Followed 0-3 months pattern for shorties, going down a hook size for both parts.

The only modifications I made were to round 3 and I made the shorties in 3 colors instead of one. (Blue waistband, gray shorts, cuffs: 1st round white, 2nd round blue, and white drawstring.)

Round 3: change color (gray): hdc in each stitch around (I only did this because I changed colors at this point and it looked neater.)

Drawstring: With I hook, and white yarn, chain 120

Total length of shorties: 8” (I made them a little shorter than pattern measurements.) I repeated rounds 6 and 7 of top portion five times and rounds 1 and 2 of leg portion once.

Monkey tail: G hook, 8sc in magic ring then continue to sc around to desired length, do not join at end of rounds, just continue in a spiral. Sewed tail to shorts.
