So excited to start this pattern! I didn’t want mine quite as wide as my normal size medium, so I’m making the small. My gauge is running about 16 stitches x 24 rows = 4”. I think the yarn I’m using is slightly thinner than the recommended yarn. Probably should have went with the medium size, but I think it will still fit, given the generous positive ease of the pattern. If not, I guess I will have to wait for my granddaughter to be old enough to fit into it, lol! I did place it next to a sweater I own with a boxy fit and it’s running about the same size. I’m not big on swatching (Shame on me!- I know!), so sometimes it bites it me in the a!
2/28/18 I have just about finished the first skein of yarn. I’m about 5.5” down from underarm at this point.
3/15/18 Finished body and ribbing. I am most likely going to re-do the bind off. I was afraid the bind off would be too tight so I went up a needle size. I am going to re-do with smaller needle (same as rest of pattern). I used this tutorial for binding off: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alpbAkCnwaw NOTE: This bind off was too big. Made the sweater flare out, so I took it out and just did a regular bind off. I wish the pattern had included a preferred bind off method.
3/26/18 Started on the sleeves today. Not re-doing the bottom ribbing of the body until I complete the sleeves so I can see if I want to leave as is or not. I am knitting the sleeves back and forth from one to the other a few rows at a time so I can make sure They are both the same. Tried to start each sleeve at the same color section in the yarn so they will match up.
3/27/18 Pulled out the sleeves and started again. I didn’t like the edge starting on the wrong side. I don’t think my edges are neat enough yet, so I started again picking up stitches on the right side. The sleeves are looking a little small around at round 18 so going to put in a life line and try on. I may not need to do the decreases.
4/14/18 Finished sleeves and re-did the bind off on the bottom of the sweater. Wove in all ends, done! I really should have made the medium, but as predicted the small does fit, just as a more fitted sweater, not oversized. I still love it, though!
