Notes

This is the perfect pattern if you are looking for a knit-look crochet beanie! It is a simple pattern, but it’s not a super quick make. I would say this hat takes longer than the average crochet hat to make, but probably a similar amount of time as a knitted hat. (with worsted weight yarn)

I had 1.2 ounces of yarn leftover, so enough to make a pom pom if desired.

The finished hat was 9.5 “ x 17”. I was a little off gauge, so I think I added about 6 to 8 rows to get to 17”. My length was about an inch shorter than the pattern specifications, but it has just the right amount of slouch for me.

The Glacier Beanie pattern makes a nice dense warm hat. Perfect for colder weather! I like the simplicity of the hat, letting the yarn shine. I’ll probably add a fur pom to mine to finish it off. I highly recommend this pattern.

As for the yarn, I love Heartland yarn, but it is a little splitty. Sometimes that’s price to pay for softness.
