Modifications:

Row 1 (back panel and two front panels) : Foundation sc then started in pattern on row 2.

120 rows for back and front panels to get 30” length.

70 rows for sleeves to get 20”

Sleeve cuffs knit in 1x1 rib 38 stitches and 16 rows (3” length) with 5mm needles

4/4/19 Back and front panels complete. Need to block, seam, and add bottom ribbing and collar.

4/15/19 Blocked and seamed. I ended up using whip stitch on the shoulder seams and mattress stitch on all the other seams. I tried whip stitch and crocheted seams on the sides and sleeves, but ended up using mattress stitch. None of the seaming methods looked good to me, but mattress stitch was the best of the three. I’m going to steam the seams and see if that improves the look. Seaming was difficult no matter the method as the yarn breaks very easily.

I tried it on and the sleeves are too big around. I know it’s oversized, but there’s an awkward bulkiness where the sleeves are joined to the body. Hoping it looks better when I add the collar.

Not sure when I will get to it, but I’m not satisfied with the seams and the sleeve width. I will take apart all but the shoulder seams and re-do the sleeves, ceasing the increases at the point where the width is what I want.

12/13/19 Had my daughter try on the cardigan and it fits her pretty well, so instead of trying to frog this extremely difficult to frog yarn, I am going to knit the collar and bottom edge like I did the sleeve cuffs.

12/16/19 Started working on the collar last night. 5.5mm
needles, 257 stitches around in 1x1 rib. Should finish collar today and start on bottom edging.

12/19/19 Finished collar last night and did a regular bind off with loose tension this morning. I’m pretty pleased with the collar. I decided not to do anything to the bottom edge.

2/10/20 Just realized I need to get a photo with my daughter wearing this cardigan!
