Loving this pattern so far! It’s very well written and detailed with links to how to do ribbing if you’re not familiar with crochet ribbing. I wasn’t sure about where to place pockets, but I’m using the photos as a guide. I’m rating this pattern as medium. Some experience with seaming pieces and crocheting ribbing is helpful as well as being able to crochet evenly around a piece without an actual stitch count.
I am making mine one color, but I do like the look of a separate color for the ribbing.
I am making the size S/M, but using the length for the L/XL.
10/26/17 Wow! This is working up really quickly. I made both sleeves and most of the back panel today.
11/2/17 Worked on a few other projects this past week and picked up this project again last night. I may need to adjust lengths later, but so far:
Sleeves: 29 rows after ribbing
Front and back panels: 48 rows after ribbing
One front panel to go, then I can start on the collar and seaming.
11/3/17 Finished everything but the pockets. Saved them for last in case I ran out out of yarn.
11/4/17 Made pockets. (I added 3 extra rows of ribbing as I wanted wider pockets. Also left a long strand for seaming before slip knot so I wouldn’t have as many ends to sew in.) Going to try placement at about 2 clusters in from side and 6 clusters up from bottom to see if that works out.(Going by the posted photos of the design) I am using stitch markers to test positioning before seaming.
The sweater fits great! I maybe should have made the sleeves one or two clusters wider. It’s a little snug under the arms, but I think it will stretch a little and be fine. My arms are pretty slim, so I would say most would want to widen the sleeves slightly. I think it would work out ok to widen the sleeves and use the smaller hook for sleeve cuffs.
Photos coming soon. I was so into making this, I didn’t want to stop and take progress pics!
