Bought this yarn ages ago. Needed a new scarf and found this in the attic. Total cost for the hole scarf is less than a dollar (bought yarn at reduced price).
It’d done in English rib, Fishermans rib or brioche (in danish it’s just called patentstrik, so I’m not sure which it is ) But this is the description of the pattern:
1st row: 1 edge st in garter, K1, yo, slip 1 st as if purled, rep -, end with K1, 1 edge st in garter.
2nd row: 1 edge st in garter, yo, slip 1 st as if purled, K next st and yo tog, rep -, end with yo, slip 1 st as if purled, 1 edge st in garter.
3rd row: 1 edge st in garter, K next st and yo tog, yo, slip 1 st as if purled, rep -, end with K next st and yo tog, 1 edge st in garter.
Repeat row 2 and 3.
Cast on 64 sts. including two selwedge-sts.
This is my first attempt at “patentstrik” - hence the unevenness. I thought it was much more difficult. But its almost impossible to correct errors - especially in this type of yarn, so I did a lot of “tinkering”.
I’m not to fond of mohair but it actually works rather well in a scarf like this, and the brioche-stitch makes it quite fluffy and warm.
