Notes

I wanted a cowl to go with my hat so I decided to knit one using this pattern as a jumping off point. Essentially, I’m never going to increase or decrease. ;)

Ok, I want the to lace pattern to organically grow out of the collar of my coat without any border. So first I cut out the PITA ribbing portion of the pattern. Then let’s remove the increase row.

Now, my neck is skinnier than my head, so I don’t need or want 108 stitches. The clover lace pattern is a 12-stitch repeat, so if remove 2 sets of the repeat, or 24 total, I go down to 84 cast-on stitches. That seems to be a good width amount for cowl patterns, I what can tell. Now we just have to hope I have enough yarn left!

I had exactly the right amount of yarn for 4 full repeats of the pattern. When I cast off I purled instead of knitting to hide that cast-off edge a bit. It looks adorable, and now I want to make matching mittens (<---crazy, that is me).
