Abotanicity was on my niece’s list of wishes for Christmas. She wanted a large purple sweater with a huge collar.
I told her that I would not have finished at Christmas and she didn’t complain.
After dropping some own designs I chose

I bought a 500g-package of the above named yarn and started with a circular needle (3mm) after swatching.
I changed the neckline from boatneck which was suggested in the pattern to a provisional cast-on and added stitches for more space at the throat. Otherwise I would not have had enough stitches for adding the huge cowl.

After the ripped part I continued with the sleeves. I wanted to have this knitting part behind me as soon as possible.

Another difference from the original pattern is a godet I added between sleeves and Body with the result of a better fitting.

When I finished the sleeves the collar was knitted with the stitches of the provisional cast-on. The idea was not to run out of yarn before the collar was finished. Rather than that I would have shortened the length of the lace part.

I finished the edge with a ridge which rolls inside and asked my neighbour’s daughter to model the sweater. She was very pleased and me too because she modelled the sweater perfectly.
