Notes

Deutsch im Stricktagebuch vom 22. Juli 2012.
The fish starts with modular patches à la Horst Schulz, continues with ribbing and then turns into entrelac.

I used very small needles to get the mittens as small as possible.

When I got bored of all the turning while knitting entrelac I decided to learn to knit from left to right, so called “backward knitting”. I was surprised how fast this could be performed and even more astonished noticing how quickly I had finished the second mitten.
Regarding the result of both mittens the backward knitting looks more evenly.

The two fishes look totally different but were made from the same skein except the thumb of one of the mittens.

I made a picot cast-on which I learned from my Great Aunt who taught me knitting the French way.

The pattern is very well written. There are two sizes but you may vary size using different yarns.

I’m sure that I have to knit the mittens more often if my nieces will see them
