Recently I helped my mother in her garden. Before instructing me what to do she put on a pair of garden shoes and: a yellow zipper cardigan I hadn’t seen for at least 30 years.
I knitted this in the early 70s in my early teenage years. As we all did: in heavy colored polyacrylic yarn. My excuse: I was young and had to pay the yarn myself with my low levelled pocket money.
I remember that my father paid the zipper when I had finished the cardi.
Inspecting the knitting I was amazed how good the material still looked in spite of my mother telling me that she washes this sweater very often.
I was quite a horrible teenager but it seems that my knitting and finish was executed very meticulously.
Hand-sewn zipper and collar and take a look at the sleeves.
