The balls were made for the elephant to balance like an elephant in the circus.
The stripes were knitted on my historical sock knitting machine. Knitting time was 10 minutes per ball. The stripes were knitted in one piece and separated before mounting. Mounting was easy and needs about 50-60 minutes. I stuffed them with a little fiberfill.
The smaller ball was made with a smaller tension and feels more sturdy.

My sister-in-law was very pleased with the balls because my nephew cannot throw all into ruins by playing with them.
At the birthday party everybody marveled about the construction.
